BFA Acting Track

Reasons to choose a BFA in Acting

  • Our graduates work:
Our BFA Acting graduates work on Broadway, off-Broadway, in regional theatre, television, and film. Our students get to work and stay working.

  • Conservatory approach ensures quality training:
We pride ourselves in maintaining a competitive yet supportive training atmosphere. A selective admission process assures that you will be surrounded by other students that challenge you toward being your best.

  • National Association Schools of Theatre (NAST) accredited:
Accreditation guarantees an excellent student/teacher ratio in all of our BFA acting classes. It also ensures a top-notch faculty with professional affiliations and certifications.

  • Career preparation and a successful Los Angeles industry showcase:
Every graduate leaves with the tools to succeed, including excellent business skills. Our successful Los Angeles Showcase provides students with the opportunity to network and garner professional representation.

  • Exceptional number of performance opportunities:
Acting opportunities are available on our mainstage, our black-box, one of many performance troupes, or within Tent Theatre, our professional Equity (AEA) theatre.

  • On-Camera training:
Students have ample opportunity to train and perform on-camera, a facet of our program that contributes significantly to graduate success.

  • Affordability:
Our modest tuition rates, ample scholarships, and out-of-state tuition waivers allow our students to focus on their training and enter the profession free of educational debt.

Success on every stage

The BFA Acting degree track is designed for students invested in becoming professional actors. We are the only program in the region that is accredited by the National Association of Schools and Theatres and that houses an Equity Membership Candidate program (EMC).

You will receive preparation for the competitive acting industry in a supportive environment. Our goal is to produce professional actors that are able to audition well and market themselves in the industry. Of course we like to mention our more historic success stories such as John Goodman, Kathleen Turner, and Tess Harper, but our more recent students are also taking the industry by storm. Most impressive is the consistency with which our graduates work and thrive in the professional arena. Additionally, Acting seniors performing in the L.A. Showcase consistently garner an exceptionally high rate of offers for representation.

Our BFA Acting graduates work in:

  • Broadway Theatre
  • Professional Regional Theatre
  • Film
  • Television

Our graduates have also found successful careers as producers, directors, artistic administrators, casting directors, and theatre educators.
