Three and One Half Year Degree Plan: BSED Theatre
Below is a three-and-a-half year sample schedule for the theatre option in the Bachelor
of Science in Speech and Theatre Education degree. This program can be completed in
ten semesters. This schedule should only serve as a guide and should not replace regular
meetings with your advisor.
Student teaching
Student teaching meetings are held each January for the coming academic year. Attendance
is required. You are also required to participate in all extracurricular activities
with your cooperating teacher to receive the full 12 hours of credit

The suggested course sequencing is 15-18 hours per semester.
GPA Requirements include: 2.5 GPA on all course work; at least a 2.5 GPA in the certificate
subject area and in any additional subject area; at least a 2.5 GPA and no grade lower
than a “C” in all professional education courses. Other Requirements include: CBASE
and PRAXIS exams; Completion of Portfolio Checkpoints I, II, and III. Periodicity
warning: COM 322 special section for education majors (Fall); COM/THE 417(Fall); COM
534 (Spring); COM 536 (Spring).
