Heather Chittenden-Luellen joined Missouri State University in 1996 as the staff pianist /accompanist for both the musical theatre and dance programs. Heather has served as Musical Director for mainstage musical productions since 2003 and Tent Theatre musical productions since 1998. She is currently musical director for Syncopation, MSU's musical theatre performance group, and serves as Musical Director for the New York Senior Showcase held each spring. She also serves as alumni liaison for the department, supervising the alumni website and providing a central contact for MSU alumni working all over the world. Heather's mainstage musical direction credits include: Little Women, Marat/Sade, A Chorus Line, Grand Hotel, Beguiled Again, and Crazy for You. Heather has served as the Musical Director for Tent Theatre's productions of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Anything Goes, Zombie Prom, A Funny Thing...Forum, Nunsense, Footloose, A Grand Night for Singing, Little Shop of Horrors, The Fantasticks, Trixie True Teen Detective, Blue Plate Special, Something's Afoot and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?; Heather's other credits include: Musical Director for Actor, Lawyer, Indian Chief, a musical by Craig Carnelia and David H. Bell, premiered at Goodspeed Musicals in spring 2002; Musical Director and Conductor for A Grand Night for Singing at the Vandivort Center Theatre (1996); Accompanist and Assistant Musical Director for My Fair Lady (1996), The Secret Garden (1995) and Sweeney Todd (1999) at the Landers Theatre; local keyboard substitute for national tours of Titanic (2000) and Beauty and the Beast (2000); and numerous other community theatre projects.
