Chris DePriest teaches stagecraft/construction and stage management classes, along with acting as Technical Director for the Theatre and Dance Department. Before coming to Missouri State University, he was the Production Manager and Technical Director for The St. Louis Black Repertory Company. Chris also served as the resident Scenic and Lighting Designer for the Black Rep. He has worked with such theatre companies as: The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, Bigfork Summer Playhouse, McLeod Summer Playhouse, and The Atrek Dance Company. His most recent design credits include lighting design for The Sty of the Blind Pig, with the St. Louis Black Rep.; In the Beginning … There was Dance!, with the Atrek Dance Co.; H.M.S. Pinafore with Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; and Scenic Design for Boo! – A Musical Fantasy (world premiere) with the St. Louis Black Rep. Other Scenic designs include: Mame, George M., You Can’t Take it With You, Candide, Madame Butterfly, Baby with the Bathwater, and The Foreigner. Chris has worked professionally as a Technical Director for five years and as a Production Manager for the past two years.
