UPDATE: Kay Alden

Would you like to hear advice from an Emmy-winning writer who has more than 30 years' experience in the television industry?
Then you're in luck, because just such a person is receiving Missouri State University's Outstanding Alumni Award this weekend and she will hold an open discussion session for students and faculty this Friday, October 30, 1:30-3:00 p.m. in the Balcony Theatre (Craig Hall second floor).
Kay Alden is the co-head writer for the daytime series The Bold and the Beautiful and former head writer for The Young and the Restless. She has been nominated for more than a dozen Daytime Emmy's, winning three times in 1997, 2000 and 2006 for Best Writing. She began her career in television in 1974 as a script writer for The Young and the Restless and also has served as a story consultant for All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital. Ms. Alden received a master's degree in speech and theatre from Missouri State University in 1970 and is a long-time resident of Chicago.
