I Love You Because
Tickets for the MSU Theatre & Dance Production of I Love You Because are on sale now!
By Ryan Cunningham (book and lyrics) and Joshua Salzman (Music) Directed by Michael Casey A contemporary twist on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, this buoyant musical comedy proves that opposites attract! When uptight Austin Bennett meets free-spirited Marcy Fitzwilliams through an online dating service, the sparks don't exactly fly. Austin still carries a torch for ex-girlfriend Catherine, and Marcy is convinced that conservative Austin is Mr. Wrong. Meanwhile, Austin's brother Jeff and Marcy's friend Diana have an instant connection, though both fear commitment. The singles share their perspectives on love ranging from the cynical to the sublime through a witty script and delightful score that strike a perfect match! This production includes adult themes and language.
