Oedipus Rex
TADBanner08 Tickets for Sophocles' Oedipus Rex. translated by Carl R. Mueller, are on sale now!

Meet Oedipus and his agony that is to come. Never has a play been performed that conveys the idea of public exposure to private torture so hauntingly. Follow the king of Thebes as he discovers how lonely it is at the top of a kingdom and at the bottom of exile. One part detective story, quite possible the first, and one part drama, Oedipus Rex is everything that makes us human and monster. Follow the king through murder, prophecies, love, and being reunited to a past he only thought he knew. From strangers telling truths to babies being lost in mountains find out how blinding the works of Sophocles can really be, even thousands of years later.

April 2-4, 2009, at 7:30 PM & April 5, 2009, at 2:30 PM
Tickets: $8 (MSU advance purchase), $12, $14
For tickets, visit any Missouri State Box Office, or visit MissouriStateTix.com.

"Inside Acting" Panel

TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 18th, from 4:00-5:00 pm, the public is invited to attend an "Inside Acting" panel discussion with seasoned actors from L.A. Theatre Works, America's premiere radio theatre company!  This is a unique opportunity to interact with the performers and have your questions answered regarding the evening's double-bill production of War of the Worlds & The Lost World, as well as the actors' careers in theatre, television and film.  The panel discussion will take place on the level 5 Mezzanine at Juanita K. Hammons Hall.

Then join us at 7:30 pm, when the company presents back-to-back chills, thrills and great literature - recreating Orson Welles' infamous radio broadcast of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds, truly the mother of all space invasions, along with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's campy time-travel adventure, The Lost World, where dinosaurs exist alongside ape men and intrepid explorers!  Student Rush tickets are available for only $10, starting one hour before the show!
