"Music, Media & Movements" Panel
"Focus the Nation" & "The National Teach-In" at Missouri State presents: "Music, Media & Movements" this Thursday, February 5th, from 11:00am-12:15pm at the PSU, room 315.

This panel rocks. Literally. Jonny Dubowsky of the rock-band, "Jonny Lives!" will be joined by fellow panelists Dr. Kurt Heinlein (Theatre) and Dr. Lora Vess (Sociology), and Dr. Chris Herr (Theatre) to discuss the relationship of the arts-music and theatre-with sustainability and social movements. The panel will discuss how movements use the media to further their goals as well as how media and the arts, in-turn, serve as gatekeepers and shapers of social movements. This panel promises to provide insight into an artistic vision for sustainability.

Ticket Giveaway
TADBanner08 This week, you can win two tickets to see Urban Bush Women at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, February 10th, at 7:30 PM.

If you wish to enter in this giveaway, please send an e-mail to Matt Tassell (Tassell65456@MissouriState.edu) with "Urban Bush Women" in the subject field by Thursday, February 5th, 2009 at 11:30 AM.

This sassy, strong and relevant dance company, founded in 1984 by choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, seeks to bring the untold and under-told histories of disenfranchised people to light through dance. They do this from a woman-centered perspective, as members of the African Diaspora community, in order to create a more equitable balance of power in the dance world and beyond.
