Twelve Angry Jurors
Tickets for the Missouri State Theatre & Dance Production ofTwelve Angry Jurors, directed by Dr. Carol J. Maples, are on sale now! The show will be performed in Coger Theatre from December 4-6, 2008, at 7:30 PM & December 7, 2008, at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $8 (MSU advanced puchase), $12, and $14.
"A murder case falls into the hands of twelve jurors in Twelve Angry Jurors,
by Reginald Rose. Find out how justice conforms to twelve people, and
see how it morphs them into twelve angry people through their own
faults, personal ticks, and histories. A drama set in the clean crisp
lines that nostalgia somehow forgot. Meet these men as they hold a life
in their hands and they rediscover who they are and why they are, even
through the clichés that define them and their time. What would we have
them do to an inner city boy who is accused of stabbing his father to
death?"
Sponsor of the production is Educational Community Credit Union.
Be sure to join us on December 4th, immediately following the show, for our Opening Night Reception in Craig Lobby!

LAST CHANCE- PLAYWRIGHT SUBMISSIONS!
This is a reminder that the 2nd Annual Modern Mystery Plays Playwright Competition is still accepting scripts! Completed scripts must
be submitted no later than November 20, 2008.
Mystery
Plays are the example of medieval drama, when people gather to hear and
see the mystery of God unfold before them. The plays existed in
"cycles" of individual performances of stories from Genesis to
Revelation. You are invited to adapt to "mystery play" into a
modern/current day setting. Two scripts will be chosen for the
production in the Spring of 2009.
A scholarship of $500 will be
awarded to the playwright of each production. To be eligible,
you must be a student enrolled at Missouri State University with a
major within the Theatre & Dance Department.
For more information, contact Sarah Wiggin (swiggin@missouristate.edu) or Howard Cavner (howardcavner@missouristate.edu). Please contact either Sarah or Howard ASAP, so that they can help track your progress!
The Modern Mystery plays are a cooperative program of The House Campus Ministry and the MSU Department of Theatre & Dance.
Also, the submission deadline for the UTD Student-Written One-Acts is November 20, 2008. Please give any original scripts to any UTD Officer, the Theatre & Dance Office (Craig 355), or to MissouriStateUTD@gmail.com.
