GOSH Review: Supporting Characters Take Center Stage In Play

The following is the review for The Girlhood of Shakespeare's Heroines from the Springfield News-Leader's peforming arts critic, Larry Collins:

In director Stacy Parker Joyce's imaginative production, the "stage" is a swanky cabaret that mirrors reality as effectively as a traditional theater. Scenic designer Renee Simmons has transformed Craig Hall's Balcony Theatre into a inviting locale with a full-size bar, a sexy cocktail waitress, a moody lounge singer, a perky emcee and a gentlemanly bouncer in black. You can even place orders for drinks and snacks as you listen to jazzy standards such as "April in Paris" and "The Girl from Ipanema."
