Musical Theatre (BFA)
The Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance and Department of Music offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre, providing students with a pre-professional degree program that gives students the techniques and knowledge to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. In addition, students are given a wealth of performance opportunities and hands-on experience in professional theatre venues.
Auditions
In 2004, the Department of Theatre and Dance and Department of Music implemented a new admissions policy for the BFA in Musical Theatre. This degree program now requires an audition for acceptance into the major at the time of applying for admission to the university. In addition to applying to Missouri State University, you are required to submit a formal application to the department for an audition into the BFA in Musical Theatre program.

Degree Requirements
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre shares the General Education Requirements with all Missouri State University Students. In addition, students take additional hours of major requirements in Acting, Music, Design/Technology, Dance, and a cumulative Final Recital.
