Inertia Dance Company is the student dance company at Missouri State University. Now in its 10th year, the company has performed in New York City at The Merce Cunningham Dance Space, at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, for the Foundation of the Arts in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with the Springfield Symphony as well as the opening ceremonies for the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. They have performed at American College Dance Festivals at the University of Georgia, University of Iowa, Northern Illinois University, Wichita State University and most recently at the University of Illinois. The company tours to public schools during the spring semester and has worked with over 28,000 K-5 students in the past nine years. Last year, members of the Inertia Dance Company were selcted to appear at the National American College Dance Festival in Washington, D.C.
