Micheal Foster

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama, a Master of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University, and interned at the prestigious Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design in London, England. Micheal is a member of the Department of Theatre and Dance faculty here at Missouri State University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama, a Master of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University, and interned at Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design in London, England. Prior to arriving in Springfield, he worked for an architectural lighting design firm in NYC (whose credits include the relighting of the Jefferson Memorial in DC and the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in Boston) and later joined the theatre faculty at the University of Miami in Miami, FL.
Recent lighting designs include works for the Modern American Dance Company and Atrek Dance Company in St. Louis, and the theatrical productions of Boleros for the Disenchanted and Black Pearl Sings!, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, Florida,; Altar Boyz, The Miss Firecracker Contest, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this past summer for Tent Theatre here on the campus of Missouri State University. He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and an educator member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
