Sara Brummel

Sara Brummel began dancing at age seven when she begged her mother to let her take dance classes.
After attending North Carolina School of the Arts, she performed with the Pennsylvania Ballet (as an apprentice), New England Dinosaur, The James Waring Festival, Contemporary Dancers of Winnipeg, Rainbow Stage, the Dance Company of Ontario, Cleo Parker Robinson’s New Dance Theatre, and Grant Street Dance Company.
Teaching experience includes the Missouri Fine Arts Academy, the University of Arizona, Loretto Heights College, the Colorado Ballet, Contemporary Dancers of Winnipeg, American College Dance Festival, the Cambridge School of Ballet, as well as workshops in São Paulo, Brasil and Bogotá, Colombia.
Ms Brummel’s choreography has been featured in The Colorado Choreographer’s Showcase, The Grant Street Dance Company, the Springfield Symphony Christmas Concert, the Springfield Ballet, Mid America Dance Company of St. Louis, The National Dance Education Organization’s National Conference and several University productions including Loretto Heights College and Missouri State University.
After completing a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Arizona, Ms. Brummel served as the Artistic Director of Springfield Ballet before joining the faculty of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri where she is currently an Associate Professor.
