Christopher Herr, Associate Professor of Theatre, currently teaches theatre history, dramatic literature, graduate seminars in theatre theory and research, writing for theatre. He also serves as the Department's Graduate Coordinator. Dr. Herr earned his Ph.D. in 1998 from the University of Toronto with an emphasis in American Drama, theatre history, and dramatic theory and an M.A. in English from the University of Toledo in 1991. Dr. Herr has taught at Missouri State since 2005, and has presented and published widely. Publications include Clifford Odets and American Political Theatre (Praeger, 2003) as well as chapters in Blackwell's A Companion to Satire, The Oxford Handbook of American Drama (forthcoming), and "To Have or Have Not": New Essays on Commerce and Capital in Modernist Theatre (forthcoming).
