Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance
The Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance, which is designed for the student who intends to seek a professional career or who wants to pursue an advanced professional degree.
Auditions
In 2004, the Department of Theatre and Dance implemented a new admissions policy for the BFA in Dance Performance. This degree program now requires an audition for acceptance into the major at the time of applying for admission to the university. In addition to applying to Missouri State University, you are required to submit a formal application to the department for an audition into the BFA in Dance Performance program.

Degree Requirements
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance shares the General Education Requirements with all Missouri State University Students. In addition, students take additional hours of major requirements in all forms of dance: ballet, jazz, modern and tap. Also, required are courses in choreographic design, music resources, dance history, pedagogy and production management.
